Last Ride Out For Groceries With The Brompton Bikes

It’s getting colder in Ottawa and this week is probably our last ride out for groceries. We’ve been doing this since early spring using 5 bags to carry about 5 days worth of groceries (for 4 people).

I’m using the Brompton Medium Zipper Tote, that I make, for the front rack and a Vincita Nash Rack Bag for the back.
Christian is using the Brompton Borough Basket Bag, a Vincita Nash Rack bag and the custom Brompton Roll-Top Bag that I made for him.
First, I just want to say that we’re not affiliated with Brompton or Vincita. We rarely buy bags, but these really impressed us. They are really useful, well made and smartly designed.

I typically don’t like pannier bags, but when I saw the Vincita Nash Rack Bag, I was wowed by the clever design. It’s a hold all with zippered fold out panniers for when you need more carrying capacity.

My Brompton compatible Medium Zipper Tote in custom colours: olive green and brown leather.

I filled the body of the bag with fruits and vegetable and more items in the pannier pockets.

My brother gave Christian this Brompton Borough Basket Bag. He has a folding bike, too, but didn’t use the bag much. We find it really useful as a front carrier bag for larger grocery items.

I love riding my Brompton bike out, especially for groceries and sending out our shop orders out at the post office. We’ll have to store the bikes away soon. Until next Spring…
