Shipping To USA Is Paused Until We Know More About Tariff Costs

It has been a head spinning few days. Basically, the Trump administration is going to add tariffs on all packages entering the US starting August 29th. With such an announcement and little time to work on, we let our US customers know that all orders had to be in at the end of Saturday, August 23rd.
The photo above shows the 2nd last batch of orders to be shipped. Thank you so much to my US customers for putting in their orders quickly and their support. In 3 days, we got 20 orders ready to ship for Monday, August 25th.

The Trump administration removed the de minimis exemption. This policy allowed low-value exports (less than US$800) to enter the U.S. duty-free, with minimal paperwork. It was targeted for goods from China initially. However, last week, it took the global shipping system by surprise when he announced every single country would be charged and the shipping company is responsible for collection.
Right now, the shipping companies don’t have a system in place to be able to collect and moreover, don’t know how much the tariffs are. Everyday on the news in Canada, we hear percentages like 25%, 35%, 55% tariffs for different sectors and countries. It seems arbitrary and to his liking.
Having run this micro-business for 12 years, I’m hoping I can work through this and continue shipping to customers who like what I make.
