Custom Bag: Medium Utility Tote Travel Carry-On With Phone/Passport Pocket and Magnetic Snap Closure

This custom bag is for Heather in Mill Valley (near San Fran), California. She is an avid traveller and chose the Medium Utility Tote for a carry-on. She asked for a few customizations that she’s seen before on this blog, but wondered if I would consider adding magnetic snaps to all the outside pockets (something I haven’t done before).

With a request, such as this, I will only do it if I think the bag will turn out well. In this case, I thought the magnetic snaps would be a neat feature and would work with the design of this bag.

The Medium Utility Tote is a short-handle bag with a detachable and adjustable leather crossbody strap.

The tote comes standard with 2 large front slip pockets. For each of the pockets, I added a magnetic snap. I was really happy with how it turned out.

Heather added the luggage strap customization for a roller suitcase. If you travel, this is a very useful feature.

She also wanted a magnetic snap on the passport/phone pocket on the luggage strap. She gave me the size of her phone (6″). I made it with extra room for any size phone, passport and maybe a small notebook.

The Medium Utility Tote comes standard with 4 organizing pockets; 2 medium and 2 bottle pockets. Heather wanted an extra custom zippered pocket, so in total, this entire bag has 8 pockets!
