Introducing the Roll Top Bag. Convertible Messenger, Backpack and Carry-On Travel Bag

This past Spring break I designed a Roll Top Bag for Christian to test out during our trip to Montreal. Overall, I was happy with it with, but it needed some refinements. I worked on it for the last couple of months and it’s finally in the shop!

The Roll Top is the most versatile bag in the small collection that I design and make. It comes with a detachable leather shoulder strap, so it can be worn as a messenger bag. With additional options, it can be a full length backpack and a carry-on travel bag.

This bag can fit a little or a lot when it’s extended.

• It can fit up to a 16″ laptop if you’re using it as a work bag.
• As a backpack, you can put a lot of gear into it, if you use it at its full extension.
• If you’re using it for travel, the luggage strap will fit all standard trolley suitcase handles. The bag is also the maximum size for a personal bag for most trains and airlines.

The bag has 6 organizational pockets. 2 exterior front pockets that are great for things you need to get quickly and water bottles. 4 interior pockets to organize your belongings.

The Roll Top Bag comes in 3 stock colour combinations; charcoal grey, midnight blue and brown. You can also order your own custom colours (like the top-most photo: midnight blue and red). As always, you can personalize almost all Modern Coup carry goods with your initials (during ordering process).

Here’s another example of a custom colour combination, which I really like. Olive green body and roll top with a yellow bottom.

Up next for this bag… I’m working on it be be compatible with the Brompton folding bike.
