Custom Bag: Black Waxed Canvas and Leather Utility Tote with Shoulder Strap
This black beauty is about to be shipped out to Australia tomorrow.
My customer said that she has been looking all summer (it’s summer there) for a bag that meets all her specs.
She loves the black waxed canvas medium zipper tote. It was the colour and size that she wanted and it also has the four interior pockets to organize all her stuff.
However, she did want a shoulder strap so that she can wear it as a shoulder tote and a cross-body bag.
I really like how this turned out.
The all black canvas is so minimal and beautiful, accented with the solid brass hardware.
The shoulder strap is removable with swivel hooks and adjustable with a solid brass buckle.
I punched eight holes so there’s plenty of room for how you can wear it: on the shoulder or across the body.
The bridle leather (used for horse harnesses and saddles) is just beautiful–it’s a bit stiff when new, but it’ll age nicely and become more supple with wear. I cut the strap to be 3/4-in. wide.
The strap with the swivel hooks attach onto these solid brass D-rings. The rivets are super strong and look great.
As always I use a very high quality solid brass zipper for the tote opening. This zipper just glides open and closed super easily.
