This week, I spent a few days revising the field bag. As some of you know, I worked on the first version about 6 months ago and I just got around to working on it again. This bag was originally requested by my husband who wanted a small to medium size messenger bag to carry his iPad, cameras and other personal belongings. My goal was to create a nice size, masculine bag that men can carry their personal effects in. I tried out this version and I liked the way it looked on me, so I think this would be good for men and women.
When I came home with this bag, my husband was very happy it and has already started using it. There are still a few minor adjustments I still need to make for the final version, but overall, it will look like this. The size will be about 15″ wide x 9″ high x 2.5″ deep. It is made out of a lightly waxed canvas (water resistant), full-grain leather and solid brass hardware. I will be offering it in charcoal grey (as seen in the photo), midnight blue and dark brown. I hope to have it for sale within a month, so if you’re interested, please check the shop in the next little while.

The front closure is an adjustable leather strap with a solid brass buckle. This way, if you’re carrying more or less in the bag, you can adjust it so the flap sits properly.
There is a back slip pocket that runs the width of the bag, making it convenient to take stuff in and out of.
I created an interior pocket that is big enough to fit an iPad Mini when it is placed horizontally.
